About us
Planning for Sustainability provides strategic advice and project support regarding the sustainability and environmental agenda in the area of land use planning and development of construction projects.
Professional leadership is provided by Paul Giesberg, a sustainability professional with a strong academic background and over 15 years experience in research, industry and consultancy.
Paul Giesberg has experience across a broad range of sustainability services, providing environment and sustainability advice at both project level and strategic corporate level in a mix of commercial and public sector organisations. He has crucial experience of team and project management, the design and development of effective environmental mitigation, preparation of environmental statements, and the town planning, Parliamentary Bill and consultation processes.
Paul has undertaken the environmental management for a range of multi-million pound development projects in different sectors including: infrastructure projects, urban regeneration, residential and employment development. Paul's client base reflects this mix of projects and largely consists of large public sector organizations and blue chip companies, including Crossrail, English Partnerships and Rolls-Royce. He provides consultancy advice working closely with the design and planning team and co-ordinates the environmental management, scheme development and the planning process.
Planning for Sustainability aims to deliver forward looking and efficient environmental and sustainability consulting services. To achieve this Planning for Sustainability operates through a small core team of highly skilled and experienced staff taking firm control of the technical content and management of our projects. As with any boutique consultancy, our size and focus allows us to keep our overheads down. We can therefore provide a high standard of service for a reasonable fee.
Planning for Sustainability is led by two directors. Paul Giesberg acts as the Principal Director and has gained significant experience in development projects both as a member of publicly listed client organisations and as consulting project manager. He received his academic training in the Netherlands.
Samantha Bamford holds an MA from Oxford University and received her PhD from Cambridge University. Prior to joining Planning for Sustainability she worked in the R&D departments for several publicly listed companies.
We would be delighted to discuss our approach and how it applies to your project in further detail. Please send us an email on paul.giesberg@planningforsustainability.co.uk or call on 01235 852778 to arrange an introductory meeting or a request for a proposal.
